Bringing brake testing in-house with V-Tech
Brake testing specialist V-Tech is encouraging commercial vehicle operators to take control of the costs they may be facing as a result of recently tightened regulations around testing requirements.
While updates to the rules are designed to enhance road safety, they can be accompanied by a heavy price tag for fleets that are relying on external providers for their brake testing, the company says.
“V-Tech understands that keeping your fleet compliant shouldn’t come at the cost of efficiency, flexibility, or your bottom line,” said the company.
“That’s why we’re urging commercial vehicle operators across the UK to take control—bring brake testing in-house, cut ongoing costs, and reduce costly downtime.”
Bringing testing in-house enables operators to stay DVSA-compliant without breaking the bank, V-Tech contends.
“Outsourcing brake testing may seem convenient, but over time, it becomes a major financial drain,” it said.
“Regular testing, increased demand, and tighter regulatory standards are forcing more operators to book further in advance, accept delays, and pay more – often with hidden costs in time and lost productivity.
“There is a smarter solution. By bringing brake testing in-house, fleet operators can slash external testing fees, minimise vehicle downtime, gain full control over test scheduling, ensure faster diagnosis and return-to-road turnaround, [and] maintain consistent safety and compliance standards.”
V-Tech says it offers a full range of HGV and commercial brake testing solutions to help operators take back control – without sacrificing compliance or quality.
“Whether you manage a nationwide fleet or a smaller local operation, V-Tech has you covered with mobile brake testers, in-ground brake testers [and] flexible finance options tailored to your budget,” the firm added.
“A standout solution in the V-Tech lineup is the BM20200 Mobile Commercial Brake Tester, capable of testing axle loads up to 20,000kg. It’s ideal for fleet operators looking for high-performance equipment that can be used anywhere – making it perfect for mobile operations, depots, and busy workshops.
“When you invest in V-Tech brake testing equipment, you’re not just ticking a compliance box – you’re optimising your entire fleet management process.”
Cited benefits include immediate access to testing resulting in quicker turnarounds, brake tests as needed rather than when another provider can ‘fit you in’, better control over test quality and reporting, and nationwide delivery and installation.
“With V-Tech’s affordable monthly finance options, you don’t need a huge upfront budget to take advantage of in-house brake testing,” added the company.
Its team works with customers to understand their current spend on outsourced brake testing and show exactly how much they could be saving – in real figures.
“Thousands of fleet operators across the UK are now making the switch. Don’t get stuck footing the bill for external brake testing – especially when smarter, faster, and more cost-effective solutions are within reach,” the firm said.
“Let V-Tech help you bring brake testing in-house with a system tailored to your fleet’s needs.”
