Hultsteins to distribute Orbcomm reefer technology
Hultsteins – the UK/Swedish manufacturer of diesel-free refrigeration solutions – has signed an agreement to distribute temperature recording technology from telematics and IoT specialist Orbcomm within the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.
Hultsteins will be offering customers the Euroscan X3 and RT8110/8120 series printer ranges and associated temperature sensors, alongside its own Ecofridge product range. Ecofridge is a hydraulic truck-driven refrigeration unit, which operates via a PTO from the Euro VI diesel, CNG, LNG or electric-powered truck engine. By eliminating the need for a secondary diesel TRU engine, Ecofridge is said to help fleet operators significantly reduce both operating costs and carbon emissions.

Orbcomm’s temperature recorders enable temperature monitoring and proof of compliance from origin to destination, and are suitable for a wide range of temperature-controlled loads including food and pharmaceuticals.
The products will provide customers with enhanced cold chain visibility via printed or electronic temperature records and real-time event-based alerts, as well as advanced reports. They also allow users to provide evidence of compliance with strict pharmaceutical and food industry standards.
Hultsteins UK managing director Graham Usher is delighted to be offering customers the option of Orbcomm temperature telematics alongside the Hultsteins Ecofridge. Hultsteins customers will also be able to manage multiple assets through a single application from anywhere with the Orbcomm online platform.
