Smart trailer loading with Krone Multi Safe
The Multi Safe System from Krone is designed to provide superior load security, increased operational flexibility, and enhanced driver safety across a wide range of transport applications.
At the core of the system is Multi Lock – a highly versatile securing concept that incorporates approximately 130 integrated strapping points positioned every 10cms along each side rave of the trailer. These, each with a two-tonne capacity, provide multiple strapping points, allowing virtually all types, shape or size of cargo to be positioned anywhere along the trailer bed.
Developed in close cooperation with numerous transport operators, Krone’s Multi Safe system meets the requirements of EN 12195-1, VDI 2700, and DIN EN 12642 Code XL, ensuring freight is reliably secured, liability is reduced, and downtime from load handling is minimised.
Krone’s Multi Safe system comprises several core components that work together to improve handling.
Multi Rail is integrated into the floor of the trailer, and offers additional flexible strapping points for load securing. It is said to be ideal for irregular or mixed freight, and simplifies partial unloading from one half of the loading area.
Meanwhile, the Multi Strap system includes a mechanism to lift and hold lashing straps under the roof and a sliding mechanism across the entire trailer length to move the lashing straps to the right positions for easy operation by one person. It not only speeds up the securing process, says Krone, but also reduces the risk of injury and improves ergonomic working conditions.
Multi Safe reduces the risk of cargo damage and road incidents, while potentially lowering insurance costs and improving operational reliability. With less manual handling required, the system also supports faster turnaround times at distribution hubs and loading bays.
Furthermore, by securing the load effectively with fewer materials, the system contributes to more sustainable logistics by reducing the use of single-use plastics and excess packaging.
