Jungheinrich UK to roll out AntOn brand
Materials handling equipment provider Jungheinrich UK is launching a new brand, AntOn by Jungheinrich, which it says enables logistics companies to enjoy sustainable load handling for less.
“A significant number of businesses simply do not run forklift trucks all day every day,” said Phil Pearson, sales management director at Jungheinrich UK.
“These organisations potentially only take deliveries or collections a few times a day, they have relatively simple logistics operations so they might not need ‘High-Tech’ material handling equipment designed for 24/7, high operating hour performance. This is where AntOn by Jungheinrich comes into play.
“Jungheinrich has formed a strategic partnership with EP Equipment to offer a ‘Mid-Tech’ solution perfect for customers needing to move goods from A to B without requiring the most advanced or highly specified option.”
Available from September 2025, AntOn will launch with a lithium-ion powered 1,500kg capacity electric pallet truck and two electric counterbalance trucks with 2,500kg and 3,000kg capacities. The range will develop and grow in line with customer needs.
“Anton by Jungheinrich doesn’t just offer a ‘Mid-Tech’, lighter usage alternative to the premium ‘High-Tech’ Jungheinrich range,” said Phil.
“It allows us to offer customers a different solution when it comes to the new AntOn lithium-ion powered pallet truck. Hand pallet trucks have always been the staple piece of kit when it comes to moving palletised goods – you find them absolutely everywhere.
“There remains a clear role for manual pallet trucks, but when you’re looking at pallets weighing up to 1,500kg, there’s an obvious benefit for the operator in upgrading to a fully electric pallet truck when moving those sorts of loads every day.
“The same is true for delivery drivers who might, until now, have been unloading, for example, garden furniture or other bulky items using a hand pallet truck on the back of the lorry. A lithium-ion powered pallet truck allows them all to work safer and more productively.
“Until now, the price difference between a hand pallet truck and a premium electric pallet truck was too great for most organisations. But AntOn closes that gap. It’s been designed as the perfect upgrade on a hand pallet truck, so while upgrading to an AntOn lithium-ion powered pallet truck is a significant step up in terms of safety and capability, it’s not a big step up in terms of cost.”
Sustainability is of growing importance to even smaller businesses, not least because their clients are increasingly demanding it, says Jungheinrich UK. Lithium-ion is the most sustainable way of operating material handling equipment, it contends, and this brings other operational benefits.
“Lithium-ion enables opportunity charging – the ability to give batteries a quick boost over, for example, operator break times, rather than requiring longer or overnight charging,” explained Phil.
“There’s no maintenance required, and batteries last longer, giving each truck an extended lifespan and decreasing total cost of ownership even more.”
