Norbar unveils next-generation torque multipliers
Norbar Torque Tools Ltd has launched the latest evolution of its compact battery torque multiplier range.
“Building on the success of the EBT-C launched in September 2024, the EBT-CA sets a higher standard in repeatable accuracy, connectivity and user control, with models available in both 750 N•m and 1,100 N•m capacities,” said Norbar.
“EBT-CA features the addition of advanced tool modes (including; Angle mode, Torque and Angle monitoring and Audit mode), a patented cooling system and various advanced connectivity options for high repeatable accuracy and durability whilst retaining the compact, lightweight and ergonomic design of the EBT-C to improve operator’s grip and comfort while allowing for easier access to applications.
“The EBT-CA is designed to set new standards in the torque multiplier market and is suited to a range of bolting applications across various industries that require a tool with precise torque application, measurement, data management and exceptional thermal durability.
“The patented cooling system is engineered to manage and dissipate heat efficiently during operation, ensuring the tool maintains optimal operating temperatures, even under rigorous use.”
One of the main challenges when using electronic torque tools is ensuring accuracy, repeatability and reliability, says the company.
“Recognising this challenge, Norbar has designed the EBT-CA to inherit the EvoTorque’s patented transducer control and ‘intelligent joint sensing’ technology and deliver a repeatable torque accuracy of ±3 per cent, meaning every application meets precise specifications, with every bolt tightened to the correct torque.”
The EBT-CA torque multiplier has a PC software platform available on the Norbar website, and a mobile application from Google Play and the Apple Store. This allows operators to communicate directly to the EBT-CA by connecting the tool to a mobile phone or PC to manage tool settings, run diagnostic checks, access results and view graphs.
The EBT-CA is also equipped with a ‘safe-to-start’ button said to virtually eliminate the threat of accidental activation and ensure operators’ hands are kept clear of reaction pinch points.
Ian Hyland, product manager at Norbar Torque Tools, said: “The EBT-CA is an advanced version of our EBT-C, designed to further the possibilities of the tool through Norbar ingenuity. This tool is designed for those who depend on reliability, precision and repeatability every time, with no room for error.”
