Safety solutions provider Brigade is preparing to participate in Ecomondo 2025, the international green technology expo, with a suite of intelligent safety solutions for industrial and commercial vehicles.

Taking place from 4-7 November at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, the event brings together companies, institutions, and research centres to explore the latest innovations, technologies, and strategies for a sustainable future.

Brigade will place a special focus on the waste and recycling sector, which it says remains one of the most hazardous yet essential industries for the green transition.

“The star of the show will be the new AI-Box, a cutting-edge device that enables existing vehicle cameras to be upgraded with artificial intelligence capabilities,” said Brigade.

“This technology transforms standard camera systems into intelligent sensors capable of detecting people and other critical objects in real time – all without replacing existing hardware.

“This approach enables fleet operators to adopt advanced safety features quickly and cost-effectively, accelerating digital transformation while minimising environmental and financial impact.”

Brigade will showcase technologies specifically designed for high-risk environments such as refuse collection, landfills, recycling centres, and transfer stations — all areas where large vehicles, limited visibility, and ground personnel create a complex safety landscape.

Among the featured solutions will be Backeye360 HFR (Human Form Recognition) – a four-camera HD system offering a 360° bird’s-eye view, enhanced with AI to detect humans in blind spots.

“The system alerts drivers through both visual and audible warnings, actively preventing accidents and saving lives,” said Brigade.

It will also present its Radar Predict and Front Radar – intelligent radar sensors mounted at the front and side of the vehicle, capable of distinguishing between static objects and vulnerable road users (e.g., cyclists, pedestrians).

“Using speed and direction data, the system predicts potential collisions and provides accurate alerts in line with GSR regulations R151 and R159, while minimising false positives.”

The company will also promote its AI-rear-view cameras, compliant with GSR Regulation R158 and designed to meet the latest EU vehicle safety directives.

All technologies will be demonstrated live on an electric vehicle from the BG Ecolyne range, fully equipped with Brigade’s advanced safety ecosystem.

With more than 40 years of expertise in commercial vehicle safety, Brigade emphasises its commitment to developing technologies that enhance operational safety, reduce environmental costs associated with incidents, and maximise existing investments through seamless integration with current systems.

“The waste and recycling sector requires thoroughly tested safety products to ensure that drivers and operators work under safe conditions – both for themselves and for those around them,” said Maurizio Cagno, managing director of Brigade Elettronica Srl.

“Our experts will be on hand throughout Ecomondo 2025 to advise fleet managers and operators on the most suitable solutions for their specific needs. Visit us at our stand and discover how to make your fleet safer and smarter.”

Brigade will be exhibiting at stand A7/308-307.
