Vision Techniques: lighting the way to safer roads
Vision Techniques offers a variety of vehicle technologies to help keep road, worksites, and public spaces safe, all engineered to address the daily challenges faced by fleet managers and operators.
“Our mission is simple but vital, we must protect lives and prevent accidents,” said managing director Dave Smith.
“If one life is saved through our products, that’s everything to us.”
The company’s innovations include VT Lightboard, which communicates live warning messages and improves awareness for road users.
The VT SafeZone is a system that projects a bright, visible perimeter of light around heavy vehicles and equipment.
This illuminated boundary acts as a visual cue for pedestrians to steer clear of danger zones and is said to be especially effective in busy work environments or low-light conditions.
The VT Illuminated Turnsign puts cyclist safety first and was specifically developed to highlight the vehicle’s hazardous nearside during left turns. With added visibility, it gives vulnerable road users the crucial seconds they need to stay safe, says Vision Techniques.
Meanwhile, the VT Turnalarm combines visual and audio cues to warn nearby pedestrians during low-speed manoeuvres.
Activated when a vehicle signals a turn, it flashes high-intensity LEDs and audibly announces: “Caution, this vehicle is turning left.”
Vision Techniques cites its experience in making roads safer over more than three decades, and says it can offer solutions for fleets ranging from local authorities looking to protect waste collection teams, to school buses safeguarding their students.
“We don’t just sell safety products, we are also solving safety problems. Every industry, every situation, every risk, we’re here to help,” Smith added.
