Citroën and Peugeot welcome plug-in van grant funding
Stellantis brands Peugeot and Citroën have welcomed the announcement in March of continued government funding for the Plug-in Van Grant, which can save customers up to £5,000 off the price of a new electric van.
‘Small’ vans (those with gross vehicle weight of less than 2.5 tonnes) are eligible for 35 per cent off the purchase price, up to a maximum of £2,500. This includes the Peugeot E-Partner, and the Citroën ë-C3 van and ë-Berlingo.
‘Large’ vans (those with a gross vehicle weight between 2.5 to 4.25 tonnes) are also eligible for 35 per cent off the purchase price, but up to a maximum of £5,000. This includes the Peugeot E-Expert and E-Boxer, and the Citroën ë-Dispatch and ë-Relay.
Greg Taylor, managing director at Citroën UK, said: “We’re encouraged to see the government increasing its support for the shift to electric vehicles in the light commercial vehicle segment, making going electric more accessible.
“Ongoing backing for the Zero Emissions Van Grant plays an important role in helping businesses of all sizes feel reassured as they transition to fully electric fleets and we are proud to offer four electric vehicles eligible for the grant, providing greater choice and accessibility for our customers.”
Nicola Dobson, managing director, Peugeot UK, said: “We welcome the increased investment from the government to support the transition to electric in the light commercial vehicle sector. Continued funding for the Zero Emissions Van Grant will help give businesses the confidence they need to move towards fully electric fleets.
“Peugeot continues to offer a fully electric version of every van model in our line-up, all of which are eligible for the Zero Emissions Van Grant, ensuring customers have the widest possible choice.”
