Durable Davanti DX440 offers fleets an EV option

Tyre brand Davanti has warned that tyres are proving a major contributor to higher bills for those running electric fleet vehicles, with EV-engineered tyres costing fleets around 32 per cent more than the cost of ICE tyres on average.

To help ease the burden, says the firm, fleet managers have the option to choose tyres that are built for traditional combustion engines, but can withstand the load demands of an electric vehicle.

Davanti offers the DX440, a commercial van tyre which it says is engineered with versatility in mind.

Thanks to its heavy-duty shoulder construction, it is said to deliver a responsive drive under large loads while travelling on uneven, demanding site conditions. Other cited features include a durable and rigid construction that doesn’t compromise on handling or comfort; an offset outer block section that actively contains noise for a quieter drive; and three deep longitudinal grooves that provide excellent water dissipation and traction in highway conditions.

Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres sales director for the UK and Ireland, said: “With the gap between electric and ICE vehicle costs showing no signs of reducing, it’s crucial for fleets to manage tyre maintenance costs effectively.

“Extensive testing of the DX440 confirms that it consistently delivers the quality and reliable performance essential for all road users, making it a popular choice. The added assurance that it can apply to both ICE and EV vehicles takes the stress away from businesses operating mixed fleets.”
