Yokohama’s CV tyre range in the spotlight

Yokohama has highlighted the benefits for truck and coach fleet operators of its commercial tyre range, which includes tyres for all axles and is said to offer impressive performance and longevity.

Scott Dalziel, TBR business development manager at Yokohama UK, said: “Independent mileage data has confirmed what we already suspected – our tyres are outperforming products across a range of applications from multiple brands in the premium segment.

“At a time when fleet operators are facing price pressures from every direction, tyre performance and cost per kilometre have never mattered more. When operators see our mileage figures and then compare our price point, the conversation changes very quickly. We’re not asking anyone to take our word for it – we’ll put our tyres on your fleet and let the data do the talking.”

Among the range is the Yokohama 124R pattern for steer axles, which includes a 22.5” size for regional applications (or 124RA all position pattern in 17.5” and 19.5”), has tread features to improve life and traction, including grooves and sipes specifically designed to reduce premature shoulder step down and uneven wear, stone ejectors and rigid shoulder ribs to aid straight line stability.

Meanwhile, the 704R drive axle tyre features a variety of design elements to aid mileage and traction, has extra wide directional tread, high rigidity blocks and a newly developed compound. All this contributes to even wear, long tread life and strong traction in all conditions, says Yokohama.

Not to be surpassed, Yokohama’s RY357 trailer tyre with 5-rib tread design is developed for even wear and wet traction with resistance to shoulder wear. Furthermore, the casing is specially designed to be well-suited for retreading.

While Yokohama’s tyres do extremely well in national/regional operations, says the firm, the range also features products which excel in on/off road applications, coach and city bus fleets, plus long haul operations.
