Motus selects Stertil-Koni Skylift for Bristol workshop
DAF dealer Motus Commercials has enhanced its workshop capabilities at its Bristol facility with the installation of a 35-tonne capacity Skylift from vehicle lifting equipment specialist Stertil-Koni.
Motus, which specialises in the sale, service and maintenance of new and used commercial vehicles, invested in the Skylift to improve workshop safety and streamline maintenance operations. Featuring a fully hydraulic scissor-lift design, the Skylift rises vertically with no horizontal movement. This compact footprint helps maximise usable workshop space compared with conventional platform lift systems.
The depot selected the Sky350 model, offering a 35-tonne lifting capacity and 10-metre platform, to accommodate a wide range of heavy commercial vehicles. It was also specified with an integrated LED lighting system to improve under-vehicle visibility and a jacking beam to support wheel-free maintenance.
A low drive-on height allows straightforward vehicle positioning, while extended approach ramps help reduce the risk of grounding and improve accessibility for long-wheelbase and low-clearance vehicles.
“The Skylift’s innovative design, with no base frame or cross beams and lifting legs positioned at either end of the platforms, provides unrestricted access around the vehicle, supporting a wide range of maintenance tasks,” said Stertil-Koni.
“Safety and lifting accuracy are enhanced by the independent mechanical locking system, which engages from just 90mm above floor level, alongside individual measuring systems in each lifting leg to ensure smooth, level synchronisation throughout operation. The lift is also equipped with Stertil-Koni’s patented eBright Smart Control System. Its intuitive touchscreen interface provides technicians with straightforward control, helping to improve ease of use and workshop efficiency.”
