Castrol launches three-tier CV fluids range
Castrol has announced the launch of its new three-tier commercial vehicle fluids structure.
The range encompasses engine oils, transmission fluids, coolants, greases, brake fluids, and exhaust treatment fluids, all engineered to work together as part of a complete fleet maintenance programme.
“By offering a fully aligned fluid portfolio, Castrol enables fleet operators to reduce complexity across mixed fleets, simplify servicing procedures, and apply the correct level of protection and performance across vehicles of varying ages and operating conditions,” said Kernow Oils, Castrol’s official CV partner.
“This holistic approach supports improved reliability, easier maintenance planning, and better control of total cost of ownership (TCO).”
Central to the new structure is the Castrol Vecton engine oil range.
“Modern heavy-duty engines can generate up to 30 per cent more torque than previous generations. While this improves vehicle performance and efficiency, it also creates significantly harsher operating conditions for lubricants. Increased temperatures, higher pressures, and extended operating cycles can accelerate oil oxidation, increase deposit formation, reduce viscosity stability, and deplete the oil’s ability to neutralise harmful acids.
“These factors can shorten oil life, increase maintenance requirements, and potentially impact engine durability if not properly managed.
“Castrol Vecton has been engineered specifically to address these challenges. The range is designed to help control oxidation, reduce harmful deposits, maintain viscosity under stress, and protect critical engine components throughout the oil drain interval. With products suitable for vehicles spanning up to 14 years of truck parc coverage, Vecton provides solutions for both the latest vehicle technologies and older fleet assets.”
Castrol has consolidated the Vecton range into three clearly defined performance tiers, including Castrol Vecton Long Drain Ultimate Range, designed for the latest generation of commercial vehicles operating under demanding conditions and seeking maximum efficiency.
“Vecton Long Drain products deliver extended drain capability, advanced OEM alignment, enhanced fuel economy potential, and maximum engine protection. Featuring Castrol’s System Pro Technology, the range is tested for extended drain intervals of up to 120,000 km and provides up to 45 per cent extra performance reserve compared to industry requirements. This helps maintain performance for longer, supporting extended service intervals and reduced maintenance downtime.”
The Castrol Vecton Plus Enhanced Range is said to provide an ideal balance of performance, protection, and operational flexibility for a broad range of fleet applications.
“Also formulated with System Pro Technology, Vecton Plus helps control oxidation, reduce deposit formation, neutralise harmful acids, and maintain viscosity stability under increased thermal and mechanical stress. The enhanced performance reserve helps fleets achieve longer useful oil life while supporting engine durability across a wide variety of operating environments.”
Finally, Castrol Vecton Multi Essential Range is designed for older vehicles and operators seeking trusted protection with a value-focused approach, says Kernow Oils.
“Vecton Multi delivers dependable Castrol performance while helping prevent oil thickening and deposit build-up in critical engine areas. The range supports reliable engine operation, making it an ideal solution for mature fleets where robust protection and cost-effective maintenance remain priorities.”
