Witham Group unveils new rust protection products

Lubricant specialist Witham Group has launched a new rust protection range, featuring an award-winning lanolin and linseed-based formula which it says is specifically designed to withstand the toughest transport environments and unpredictable British weather.

“As economic pressures mount, the focus for transport operators has firmly moved from buying expensive new commercial vehicles to preserving, maintaining, and extending the life of existing fleets,” said Witham Group.

“Standard rust protection products aren’t always suited to the harsh realities of the road.”

Two new products from the range are proving to be essential workshop tools for fleet managers and mechanics, says the firm, including its Prolan Chassis Rust Protection product.

The underbody of any commercial vehicle, whether an HGV, trailer or LCV, is constantly exposed to corrosive elements such as road salt, grime, and harsh weather. Over time, this can lead to severe structural corrosion, failed MOT inspections, and compromised mounting points.

“Prolan Chassis forms a durable, flexible, long-lasting film that penetrates deep into chassis seams and joints. Unlike traditional underseal coatings, it won’t wash off during regular fleet pressure washing, making it the ideal preventative measure for chassis, subframes, and trailers during routine maintenance or winter prep.

“Available in Standard and Extreme viscosities, it repels moisture even in the harshest motorway conditions. Tough on rust but kind to everything else, it is long-lasting, non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for workshop staff to handle, supporting your company’s environmental and sustainability targets.”

The second new product is Prolan Multi-Use Rust Protection.

“For everyday fleet maintenance, Prolan Multi-Use is the go-to solution for lubrication, water displacement, and corrosion prevention. Its unique non-drying formula stays active for longer than traditional aerosol products, reducing the need for repeated applications and cutting down workshop downtime.

“With an impressive 70kV dielectric rating, it is completely safe to spray directly onto electrical connections, wiring harnesses, and battery terminals to prevent damp-related faults and costly electrical failures.

“It is also NSF food-safe, making it ideal for operators handling temperature-controlled logistics and food distribution, while its versatile formula also protects timber trailer beds and wooden vehicle flooring from rot and weathering.”

Witham Group says its rust prevention products enable operators to protect their fleets and their bottom line through proactive maintenance, extending the service life of HGVs, trailers and delivery fleets.

Prolan is designed to remain on the surface, form a durable barrier, and resist evaporation or easy washing off – reducing the need to reapply. It is also an everyday workshop solution for freeing seized and rusted parts such as door hinges, landing legs, fifth wheels, chains, and container locks.

“As more companies address the use of chemicals in their supply chain, and want to improve their sustainability credentials, this unbeatable high-quality range of lubricants is a popular choice for many businesses.

“The result for transport operators is clear: reduced rust damage, lower component wear, fewer MOT failures, and significant long-term savings on fleet replacement costs.”

The Witham Group team at the Lincolnshire Show

In recent weeks, Witham Group has also picked up top trade stand awards at three county shows.

The company secured a hat-trick of victories, winning major accolades at the Suffolk Show, the Lincolnshire Show, and the Royal Norfolk Show. The awards judge exhibitors not only on their visual displays and product innovation, but also on the quality of their customer service and hospitality.

Managing director Nigel R. Bottom said: “We are incredibly proud to win these latest awards in our Lincolnshire and East Anglian heartland, competing alongside so many other fantastic entrants. Witham Group is deeply committed to providing the very best service we can, as well as developing sustainable alternatives to traditional products and helping customers run their businesses as smoothly as possible.”

The firm’s displays across all three shows were made possible through the support of Witham’s customers, who loaned machinery and vehicles to help showcase the company’s lubricants and paints.
