New Tarmac and TIP tanker takes Pride message nationwide

Building materials giant Tarmac has joined forces with fleet provider TIP to create a Pride-themed tanker, designed to celebrate the importance of inclusive workplace environments.

Owned by TIP, the tanker will support Tarmac’s logistics operations across the UK, helping to take the message of inclusion out on the road.

The initiative aims to reflect the shared commitment of both TIP and Tarmac to creating an environment where colleagues feel valued and supported. Pride provides an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, while recognising and valuing the different experiences and backgrounds that make up both organisations’ workforces.

Since the tanker was unveiled, the companies report, colleagues across Tarmac and TIP have shared their reaction to the initiative, including personal experiences and what Pride means to them. These conversations, they say, have helped demonstrate the importance of creating opportunities for people to share their experiences and support one another.

The tanker also marks the latest development in a long-standing relationship between Tarmac and TIP, with the businesses having worked together for 15 years.

David George, international strategic account manager at TIP, said: “It’s been fantastic to see the reaction from colleagues since the tanker was introduced. People have been willing to show their own experiences and talk openly about what Pride means to them, which has made the project feel much more personal. It’s been great to see that response from both TIP and Tarmac colleagues and to see people getting behind the initiative.”

Richard Buggins, national logistics manager at Tarmac, added: “We’ve worked with TIP for 15 years, so there’s a real strength to the relationship between our two businesses. It’s been particularly rewarding to see that partnership come through in something that has generated such positive conversations among our people. The stories colleagues have shared have shown just how much these initiatives can mean, and it’s been great to see everyone coming together to support it.”
