Eliminox adds value amidst high diesel costs
With diesel prices having recently breached the £2 per litre threshold, fuel costs are of key concern to logistics and transport companies at present, says fuel conditioner specialist Eliminox.
“Most do not want to pass on fuel increases to customers, but where fuel cost increases are adding thousands of pounds each week to costs, they may have very little choice,” said Prof. Tony Granger, chairman of Eliminox.
“Many logistics and transport businesses are going into administration each month. Others are laying off staff. The high cost of fuel is a contributing factor… The government and fuel companies are making money out of high fuel prices – fleet owners are losing money and it will get worse.”
Most solutions for combating high fuel costs involve a capital expenditure (capex) outlay, says Tony, such as purchasing new electric vehicles, or changing to different types of fuel.
“However, there is a proven successful solution without capex outlay that produces substantial additional benefits and cost savings.
“Using Eliminox Eco fuel conditioner reduces fuel costs on average 6 per cent for HGVs and 10 per cent for cars and vans,” he said.
“Transport managers can begin saving fuel costs immediately and reduce harmful emissions with this 100 per cent natural ingredients biodegradable conditioner that decarbonises engines and increases performance. Very little driver training is required as the fuel conditioner doses directly into the fuel tank or fuel storage tank – the dosage is 2000:1 for diesel engines. Eliminox is EN590 compliant.”
Eliminox claims that up to £40 can be saved per tank of fuel for HGVs, when reduced AdBlue use, reduced maintenance costs and other factors are taken into account. For a truck covering 100,000 miles a year, fuel savings of more than £6,800 may be achieved, says Tony.
“Then add on the other savings from using less AdBlue, less maintenance replacing filters etc. and the overall savings are quite substantial,” he commented.
The savings available will differ according to the type of vehicle used, the load, the distance travelled and other factors such as the price of fuel, says Tony, adding that clients using Eliminox have achieved on average 6 per cent fuel savings over a three-month continual use.
Benefits are said to include reduced NOx, CO2e and PM emissions; less frequent diesel particulate filter (DPF) replacement; extended service intervals; clean injectors and fuel lines; increased lubricity for smoother running engines; prevention of diesel bug; and the resolution of carbon build-up issues. The product can also help fulfil ESG and decarbonisation requirements, Tony adds, including through emission reduction certificates for regular users.
