Jungheinrich UK highlights material handling solutions at open day

Jungheinrich UK welcomed more than 200 customers and industry specialists to its Northern Hub in Warrington for its two-day Solutions Showcase Open Day, which took place on 20-21 October. The event brought together live demonstrations and expert insights to explore some of the most pressing challenges facing today’s warehouse and logistics operations.

Against a backdrop of rising operating costs, productivity pressures and evolving technology, the Open Day provided an opportunity for businesses to explore how different approaches to material handling could improve efficiency, safety and performance.

Automation was a central theme, with live demonstrations of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and mobile robots highlighting how businesses can introduce more connected material flows. Sessions also explored the practical considerations of adopting automation, from reducing repetitive manual tasks to improving efficiency through scalable solutions.

The event programme also featured contributions from technology specialist CDW and the UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA), offering perspectives on safety, skills and emerging technologies influencing the future of the sector.

Attendees were also introduced to Jungheinrich’s new EFG 2 and 3 series electric counterbalance trucks, alongside AntOn by Jungheinrich, its value range of electric material handling equipment designed to deliver reliable performance for everyday operational requirements.

Customer service was heavily showcased and continues to be a key area of focus, says Jungheinrich UK, reflecting the importance of reliable aftersales support and minimising equipment downtime for its customers. The company’s nationwide service infrastructure, supported by more than 420 engineers and a dedicated technical support team, helps customers maximise fleet availability and maintain productivity across their operations.

Throughout the event, customers had the opportunity to discuss their own operational requirements with Jungheinrich subject matter experts, identifying where practical improvements in efficiency, safety and productivity could be achieved.

Stephen Saunders, managing director of Jungheinrich UK & Ireland, said: “What we are hearing from customers is that the pressure to do more with less isn’t going away. Businesses are looking at how they can improve productivity, make better use of space and strengthen safety, while keeping a close eye on costs.

“This Open Day gave us the opportunity to bring customers, our specialists and independent industry experts together to have those conversations and explore practical solutions. For us, it is about understanding the challenges our customers face and working with them to find the right approach for their operations.”
