Maple keeps trailers secure for Caffrey International
Commercial vehicle security specialist Maple has partnered with Caffrey International to equip the Irish haulier’s trailers with TAPA TSR1-compliant security systems – the highest level of Trucking Security Requirements set out by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA).
Both Maple and Caffrey International are TAPA Premier Partners – part of a network that unites stakeholders across the supply chain with the shared goal of disrupting and combating cargo crime. One of TAPA’s most notable successes has been the creation and widespread adoption of its Security Standards, now recognised by manufacturers, shippers, logistics providers, and insurers as best-in-class procedures.
Caffrey International delivers secure, TAPA-compliant transport for high-value and sensitive goods. Explaining the decision to work with Maple, Chris Maynard of Caffrey International said: “Working with a diverse client base, where we handle pharmaceutical and other sensitive consignments, it’s critical we provide reassurance on safety and security.
“Maple’s FreightLock IQ system delivers not only the robust physical protection we need, but also a full audit trail of all access events – providing clear proof that secure conditions have been maintained from collection through to delivery.”
The partnership was showcased at the TAPA EMEA 25th Anniversary Annual Conference in Düsseldorf, where Maple and Caffrey International displayed a fully secured trailer. The feature reportedly drew strong interest from security-conscious carriers across Europe, prompting a repeat showing at the Road Transport Expo in Stoneleigh.
Paul Nunn, marketing manager at Maple, commented: “Freight crime is a growing challenge for operators, underlined by the recent Freight Crime Bill proposal in Parliament.
“The Caffrey trailer has generated a lot of interest at recent events, prompting insightful conversations and allowing industry professionals to see first-hand how our security solutions help deter organised criminal gangs and protect valuable cargo.”
