Durite unveiled two of its safety innovations at the FORS Annual Conference 2025, which took place in October at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

The recently announced products reflect Durite’s continued commitment to advancing safety solutions for the transport sector, says the company. They include a low bridge detection system.

“Approximately 1,800 bridge strikes occur annually in the UK, costing taxpayers an estimated £23 million per year and causing hours of delays,” said Durite.

“In addition, fleet operators, drivers, and their insurance providers may be held liable for bridge repair costs, road closures, and rail service disruptions.

“To help prevent these incidents, Durite’s low bridge detection system uses smart, AI-powered camera technology to detect and alert drivers of high vehicles approaching low bridges, up to 200 metres ahead, while also reading and interpreting safety height signage.

“High-accuracy 10Hz GPS, paired with the UK low bridge database, provides precise location-based alerts. By factoring in vehicle trailer and cargo heights, the system delivers accurate warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display, giving drivers ample time to select an alternative route.

“The system is fully compatible with the company’s range of vehicle safety camera equipment, providing seamless integration for fleet operators.”

The company also highlighted its new HINVII warning lamp, which combines industry standard, traditional amber LED strobing with high-intensity non-visible intelligent illumination to dramatically improve visibility of hi-vis clothing (pictured), signs, cones, and machinery in low-light or poor weather conditions.

Multi-programmable flash patterns operate on 12/24V systems, while the rugged IP67/IP69K-rated design ensures reliable performance in demanding environments, including high traffic areas, roadside incidents, and industrial sites.

Furthermore, the warning lamp enhances safety without creating distracting glare, says Durite, making it ideal for sectors such as waste management, construction, highway maintenance, logistics, and utilities.

This year’s FORS Conference, themed “Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow,” is expected to bring together around 500 road transport professionals to explore industry trends, including fleet safety innovations, compliance updates, and operational efficiency.

“The theme of this year’s FORS conference [Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow], perfectly reflects our mission to innovate for safety,” said John Nobbs, UK Sales Manager at Durite.

“Our new AI low bridge detection system and HINVII warning lamp are good examples of how we are equipping road transporters and vehicle operators across multiple industries with smarter, safer technology.”

Durite co-exhibited with Fleet Sense, an independent transport consultancy with over 25 years’ experience, offering a comprehensive suite of solutions and support in partnership with industry leaders including Durite, Webfleet Solutions, Eurora, and FleetCheck.

“Working alongside Fleet Sense further allows us to offer operators expert consultancy and tailored guidance to optimise fleet safety, improve efficiency, reduce risks and enhance compliance,” added John Nobbs.
