CV braking solutions from Sampa
Sampa UK & Ireland supplies a comprehensive portfolio of OE-equivalent braking systems and components, said to deliver reliable stopping performance while helping transport operators manage maintenance costs throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
“At the heart of hydraulic braking systems, the Sampa Master Cylinder is precision-engineered to deliver consistent hydraulic pressure and rapid response under demanding conditions,” said the components specialist.
“Manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and high-grade alloys, it offers exceptional resistance to wear, contamination and environmental exposure.
“High hydraulic efficiency ensures smooth, progressive braking with precise pedal feel, improving driver comfort while maintaining immediate stopping capability in critical situations. Sampa’s modular design allows configuration to meet specific performance requirements and packaging constraints, while the same unit can be used in both boosted and non-boosted systems. Short installation times and low maintenance requirements further reduce vehicle downtime and long-term operating costs.”
Sampa says its Brake Slack Adjusters maintain accurate clearance between brake lining and drum, ensuring consistent braking response throughout service life.
“A heat-treated housing significantly reduces internal wear, extending operational longevity under repeated braking cycles.
“An exclusive control arm design eliminates common linkage wear issues, while air-pressure-assisted operation synchronises S-cam shaft movement with brake application. With no template required for installation, slack adjusters can be fitted quickly and accurately, simplifying servicing and reducing workshop time.”
The company additionally supplies brake disc pads.
“Developed for commercial vehicle applications, Sampa Brake Disc Pads are manufactured from 100 per cent asbestos-free materials and deliver stable friction characteristics across a wide temperature range. Efficient heat dissipation reduces the risk of brake fade, while low-noise and low-dust properties improve driver comfort and keep wheel assemblies cleaner.
“A minimum wear rate extends service intervals and supports lower total cost of ownership. All pads meet ECE R90 requirements and are E-marked, ensuring compliance, safety and consistent performance.”
Sampa also highlights the critical role its brake shoes play in drum brake systems by converting kinetic energy into controlled stopping force.
“Positioned within the drum, they generate friction between the lining and drum surface to slow or stop wheel rotation.
“Manufactured using wear-resistant materials and precision engineering, Sampa brake shoes deliver consistent braking performance over extended service periods and support reliable operation under heavy loads.”
The range also includes brake dust covers to protect critical components.
“Sampa Brake Dust Covers are manufactured from high-quality steel to OE standards and shield callipers, rotors and pads from harmful particles generated during braking.
“A powder-paint coating resists chemical and mechanical exposure, while the design supports effective heat dissipation to protect surrounding powertrain and suspension components, extending component life and reducing repair costs.”
Meanwhile, Sampa Brake Drums are said to provide the friction surface required for efficient braking in drum systems.
“A strong cast body enables precise machining for uniform contact and consistent braking force.
“Excellent heat distribution reduces overheating risk, while corrosion-resistant coatings protect against environmental damage, delivering stable braking performance with reduced wear.”
S-Brake Cam Shafts are also available.
“The Sampa S-Brake Cam Shaft converts linear motion into rotational force, pushing brake shoes outward during braking. Manufactured from high-quality raw materials and induction-hardened at critical contact points, it resists deformation and wear.”
