Motormax merges with Elite Vehicle Supplies

Motormax, a leading UK provider of fleet safety solutions, has announced a strategic investment in Elite Vehicle Supplies Ltd (Elite), a specialist supplier of fire suppression, safety and accessibility solutions for the bus and coach industry.

The merger marks the launch of Motormax Group – two complementary businesses that will deliver fleet safety solutions across multiple sectors, while strengthening Motormax’s recently established Specialist Vehicle division serving bus and coach operators, and supporting the Group’s long-term growth ambitions.

Motormax designs and manufactures fleet safety technologies that prevent incidents, improve driver behaviour and support compliance. Partnering with many of the UK’s largest fleet operators and vehicle converters, Motormax delivers technical expertise and tailored solutions that help organisations reduce risk, improve operational performance and contribute to safer roads and communities.

Elite will continue to operate under its well-established brand, with its existing leadership team and employees remaining in place. This includes founders Scott Forman and Jayne Forman, who will continue in their roles as managing director and operations director respectively, ensuring continuity for customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders.

As part of Motormax Group, Elite customers will benefit from broader technical expertise and an expanded portfolio of fleet safety solutions, says the company, while continuing to receive high levels of service and aftersales support. Elite has experienced significant growth over the last five years, working with leading bus and coach operators, vehicle manufacturers and regulatory bodies including Transport for London (TfL).

Elite supports TfL’s Vision Zero initiative, designed to eliminate death and serious injury on the transport network while advancing passenger transport safety standards across the industry.

Its technologies include UNECE Regulation R107 automatic fire suppression systems for vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, Driver Fatigue Systems, Alcohol Interlock Systems, Passenger Intercom Systems and Auri next-generation assistive listening technology.

Scott Forman, Elite co-founder and managing director, commented: “Elite and Motormax share a customer-first approach and a commitment to delivering tailored solutions that help operators meet compliance and improve safety and operational performance. By bringing together our complementary technologies and expertise, we can offer customers access to a broader range of proven fleet safety solutions.”

James Haycock, Motormax co-founder and director, commented: “This marks a significant milestone for Motormax Group and accelerates expansion into the bus and coach sector while further strengthening our offering to our existing customers. Together with Elite, we bring extensive industry expertise and long-standing relationships with the UK’s leading fleet operators, creating a stronger platform for future innovation and customer support.”

With the strategic investment of private equity firms MxP Partners LLP (MxP), Westbrooke Alternative Asset Management and RMB Corvest in 2025, Motormax Group has significant growth plans in place.

Charlie Street, Motormax director and partner at MxP, concluded: “This marks an important milestone for Motormax Group. With a continued focus on research and development and ongoing investment in innovation, we are well positioned to bring new technologies to market and support our customers’ evolving safety requirements. We are establishing our position as the UK’s largest, most innovative fleet safety supplier, delivering even greater value to customers and helping to shape the future of fleet safety.”
