Fifth wheel safety with Fontaine Green Eye
Fifth wheel provider Fontaine offers a safety solution for operators specifying its products, which is also retrofittable to existing Fontaine Fifth Wheels.
“The Fontaine Fifth Wheel Green Eye consists of a high-quality extended handle and bracket sensor and single LED light which indicates when the fifth wheel is correctly closed and that the driver has carried out his checks by fitting the safety clip, for extra peace of mind,” explained the company.
The Green Eye is a sensor located behind the safety clip that detects when correct attachment has taken place. It can also be integrated with truck dashboard systems in partnership with vehicle manufacturers, allowing drivers to see whether the fifth wheel is locked or unlocked in real time.
