cvshow_2014Over 400 exhibitors are expected at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show, organisers say, which will be held at the NEC Birmingham from 29 April – 1 May.

Exhibitor numbers are up almost 30 per cent on 2013; however, actual space occupied is 20 per cent greater, which show bosses say reflects the return of many SMEs to the event for the first time since 2008.

Vehicle manufacturers attending this year’s CV Show include Citroën, Fiat Professional, Ford Motor Company, Isuzu, Isuzu Truck, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Renault Trucks, Renault UK, Toyota GB and Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles.

Most are planning new additions to their ranges, and the event will provide visitors with a chance to see these for the first time. In addition, a variety of bodywork specialists and trailer builders will be showcasing their models.

Steve Bryant, Vauxhall’s commercial vehicle brand manager, said the firm was “delighted to be back at the UK’s largest Commercial Vehicle Show. Vauxhall has always been a big supporter of the CV Show and is very much looking forward to returning to Birmingham in 2014.”

The Show will again include Workshop, which will be showcasing a wide assortment of OE components and replacement parts, as well as a comprehensive selection of garage and workshop equipment – with suppliers on hand to offer technical advice to operators. Also back again this year is the Cool Pavilion, where a wide variety of refrigerated products and services will be on display.

With operating costs remaining among the foremost of issues for the industry, the usual vast array of products and services designed to help drive up efficiency and profitability will also be on show. Not least of these will be a range of representatives from the telematics sector, offering services such as vehicle tracking, tachograph analysis, fuel economy and fully integrated packages covering every area of operation.

Among the exhibitors will be tachograph legislation specialist Tachodisc, a long-time presence at the CV Show, which managing director Karen Crispe said had become “the main event of the CV industry calendar.”

“It’s the perfect opportunity to get the industry together under one roof, provides an excellent networking opportunity and gives exhibitors, large and small, the chance to demonstrate their latest innovations and developments,” she said.

“We at Tachodisc firmly believe that the use of technology, including telematics, has become an absolute must for all operators. Total efficiency can only be achieved with total compliance. It’s quite simple; you can’t have one without the other. Efficiency and compliance; telematics and technology has become the glue that joins the two together.”

Further details of exhibitors at the CV Show can be found on the official website, where visitors can also register for their free tickets to the event.
