tachodiscDistribution specialist Freshlinc is set to become the first national commercial company to benefit from Tachodisc’s new Digital Signature Capture technology, which will provide a paperless and centralised system for managing infringement documentation for the company’s large base of permanent and agency drivers.

Freshlinc specialises in the total supply chain management of temperature controlled fresh, chilled and horticultural product, and operates 178 vehicles and 330 trailers from multiple sites in the UK and Europe.

For the last five years, Tachodisc has been Freshlinc’s analysis software partner of choice.  In this time, Tachodisc has worked closely with Freshlinc to integrate new bespoke features into its analysis software, including new reporting systems and payroll integration.

Ashley Holland, Freshlinc’s Commercial Manager, said:“With Tachodisc as our long-term compliance technology partner, we have been able to innovate and streamline how we manage our tachograph analysis requirements.

“Tachodisc’s technical team listen carefully to our needs and have worked to develop and enhance their analysis software so that it complements our growing operation. With the software being ‘scalable’, we have had the flexibility to integrate new and different modules into the software as we require them – the latest digital signature capture system being a prime example.”

Freshlinc uses Tachodisc’s analysis software as an integral business tool, and the Digital Signature Capture is the latest feature to be added to the system.  This forms part of the company’s objective to become paperless, reduce unnecessary administration and have a centralised audit trail to verify that rules on drivers’ hours and tachographs are being observed by the driver and the company.

Tachodisc’s digital signature technology gives Freshlinc the ability to digitally capture driver signatures on infringement documentation via touch screen tablets and PCs, and centrally store and process through their analysis software system.

Ashley added: “We are looking forward to integrating this digital signature capture into our national operation.  With 300 circa articulated loads a day and a large base of permanent drivers and agency drivers operating from several locations, we can be printing, processing and filing up to 300-400 drivers sheets per week.

“Tachodisc’s digital signature system will alleviate this costly administrative burden, by providing a more proactive and effective way of administering and storing infringement records for proof of compliance.  Plus at the touch of a button, from any one of sites, our records are readily available for inspection.”
