Fleetmaxx helps ambulance operators save on fuel
Fuel card provider Fleetmaxx Solutions has been saving members of the Independent Ambulance Association (IAA) up to 10p per litre on diesel and petrol pump prices, since forging a partnership with the group last September.
Alan Howson, executive chairman of the IAA, an association of private ambulance operators, said: “We have found our partnership experience to be both positive and beneficial. We and our members particularly value the support and tailored approach provided by Mark Checksfield at Fleetmaxx Solutions.”
Mark is the sales manager at Fleetmaxx’s Whitstable office and the IAA’s dedicated account manager.
He said: “During the past six months, the independent ambulance sector has been busy. I’ve made myself available to all members especially during this time, seven days a week, whatever the time.”
Mark offers an initial, free no-obligation invoice analysis to all members, showing them where savings can be made and offering best -practice advice.
“I compile specific reports for many of the companies based on invoices received. The report includes suspected fraudulent drawings, premium fuel usage and other charges incurred so that the customer has the complete picture relating to their actual fuel costs.
“The reports are tailored to individual company’s needs and provide the basis for a true comparison of fuel costs, services and availability.”
Mark reports that the average saving on invoice analysis across independent ambulance providers using Fleetmaxx Solutions in the past 12 months is 8.85 per cent on over 760,000 litres of fuel purchased using the company’s fuel cards.
There is no account set-up fee for IAA members. The fuel cards are issued at half price, a saving of £6 per card, which includes a discounted card guard insurance against misuse. In addition, up to £250 credit is offered on the first invoice as a welcome.
Fleetmaxx Solutions also guarantees that when using its fuel card, there are no transaction charges, network service fees and no hidden surcharges.
Alan Howson added: “Fleetmaxx has delivered on every level for the IAA and our member companies. I recommend them without reservation.”
During the health crisis, Fleetmaxx reports that it has been helping more than 50,000 customers including HGV operators, hauliers, essential service operators, plumbers, builders, electricians, entrepreneurs, transport managers, fleet operators, sole traders, owner drivers and start-up companies.
BP, Esso, Shell, and Texaco sites – as well as supermarkets (fuelGenie), independent retailers and specialist diesel networks, such as Keyfuels and UKfuels – accept Fleetmaxx Solutions’ fuel card range.
Fleetmaxx’s parent company is Oilfast Ltd, a bulk fuel, lubricant and licensed AdBlue distributor. For IAA members, AdBlue is available for delivery to all members in quantities of 1,000-litre Intermediate Bulk Containers or a pallet of 50 by 10-litre containers for easy transportation.
These solutions are, on average, 50 per cent cheaper than the pump price or the price of the container on the forecourt, says Fleetmaxx.
Further benefits include 24/7, secure online account access which means that the whole process can be paperless and admin-free.
IAA members also receive a preferential 10 per cent discount on installation and monthly costs for Fleetmaxx’s Fleetloc8 tracking and telematics products, and Fleetvision range of vehicle cameras.
Andy King, owner of Heart Medical and IAA director, said: “Fleetmaxx have been incredibly proactive in supporting my business. Their pricing has made significant savings to my monthly fuel costs and has demonstrated that their ongoing support was not just part of the initial sales pitch.
“They have so far always responded promptly to price and new card requests and I cannot recommend them highly enough.”
Fleetmaxx Solutions, a family-owned business, highlights a range of additional benefits of its offering, including its policy not to place customers on ‘automatic price escalators’.
“Some fuel card companies have software that automatically pushes the prices up over time… so that small introductory price might not last long… We do not do that,” said the company.
“We offer discounts for all the major brands: BP, Esso, Shell, and Texaco, and we also have specialist networks, such as Diesel Direct and UK Fuels.”
Fleetmaxx additionally emphasises its commitment to personal service, with a dedicated account manager, and its transparent invoicing and VAT-inclusive prices.
The company also has its own Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) practitioner, Rachel Pearson (pictured, right), who is available to provide support for fleets joining the scheme.
“The pandemic will continue to drive stress into our industry, but it will also drive opportunities,” Fleetmaxx predicted.
“Whether you have one or thousands of vehicles on the road, we can help reduce your running costs with discounted diesel and petrol, telematic tracking, vehicle cameras and business insurance solutions.”
