Liftmaster: raising the standard with mobile column lifts
With fleets expanding, vehicle technology advancing and regulations tightening over recent years, workshops need more adaptable, efficient and user-friendly lifting solutions, according to equipment provider Liftmaster.
Traditional fixed lifts and cable-dependent column lifts often present challenges, says the firm, ranging from complex installations and workshop constraints.
“In order to meet these evolving needs, wireless, battery-powered mobile column lifts have emerged as a game-changer,” said the company.
“By eliminating cable clutter, improving mobility and reducing set up time, these lifts can provide better flexibility for HGV, PSV and LCV workshops. Due to the nature of the design, these chargeable columns have a single-phase charging solution to remove the need for costly 3 phase retrofits or unreliable inverters.”
The firm highlights some of the challenges that it says are making traditional lifting solutions less effective.
“It feels like each week, larger, more complex vehicles are entering the market and as a result of this workshops are constantly under pressure to make better use of their space,” said Liftmaster.
“Inefficient workshop setups, cumbersome lifting systems, and slow repositioning can all contribute to delays in maintenance and repairs…
“Trailing cables from wired lifts pose trip hazards, while fixed-position lifts can create bottlenecks that limit technician movement.”
Wireless, battery-powered mobile column lifts directly address these challenges by offering a practical, future-proofed alternative, it contends.
“These lifts, drastically improve efficiency, mobility and safety and unlike their wired counterparts, these lifts eliminate trip hazards, reduce installation complexity and costs whilst allowing technicians to navigate freely around the workplace.
“These lifts operate via a wireless 2.4GHz communication and feature automatic channel selection for seamless connectivity, providing the freedom to lift vehicles anywhere in the workshop without being tied to a power source.”
Liftmaster says wireless battery-powered mobile column lifts represent an ideal option for modern fleet maintenance.
“That’s why we recommend the LM8000 – delivering 7500Kg lifting capacity per column, making them a powerful, adaptable choice for HGV, PSV, and LCV servicing,” said the company.
The wireless, battery-powered units charge via a standard 13amp 3-pin plug, eliminating the need for dedicated power infrastructure, and have 8,000kg per column capacity for heavy-duty lifting. The lifts are configurable in sets of four, six or eight columns, thereby offering scalable lifting capacity to match specific workshop requirements.
A pump-up jack moving device is said to enable effortless repositioning, reducing manual effort and improving workshop flexibility, while adjustable forks are designed to fit a variety of wheel sizes, ensuring versatility across different fleet vehicles.
