Glasgow gears up for first RTX Scotland show
Preparations are underway for the first ever RTX Scotland event, which will take place at the SEC Glasgow from 19 to 20 November.
More than 65 exhibitors are confirmed for the event, as well as a two-day conference programme at the Knowledge Zone.
RTX Scotland, which is free to attend, is a must-visit for anyone involved in the road transport sector, organisers say.
“RTX Scotland will bring the successful ‘All about the truck’ ethos of its sister show, Road Transport Expo – held each summer at NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire – north of the border for the first time,” said event bosses.
“It will showcase the latest innovations, products and services aimed at HGV fleet professionals, all under one roof. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with leading suppliers, discover cutting-edge technologies and gain insight from industry experts.”
Exhibitors at RTX Scotland will include major truck OEMs, bodybuilders and trailer specialists – as well as tyre manufacturers, technology designers, fleet compliance experts, workshop designers and infrastructure providers.
Meanwhile, the Knowledge Zone will host a line-up of speakers and sessions covering key industry topics including vehicle and driver safety, fleet compliance, decarbonisation and future HGV technology.
The programme will be officially opened on 19 November by Fiona Hyslop MSP, the Scottish transport secretary, while on 20 November, Transport Scotland and acting Scottish traffic commissioner Richard Turfitt will address attendees, providing updates and perspectives on regulatory developments and strategic planning.
“This brand-new event is a fantastic opportunity for HGV operators to come together, share ideas and see what’s new in the industry – all in one central location,” said Vic Bunby, RTX Scotland show director.
“It’s also a great space to network informally – whether over coffee or at a stand – creating the kind of face-to-face conversations that often lead to long-term business relationships.”
Show-goers can book their free tickets for the event at the RTX website.
