Absolute Alignment helps workshops expand their offering
Absolute Alignment, the wheel alignment equipment specialist, reports that it is experiencing a strong uplift in sales of its dedicated Commercial Vehicle Aligner carrying through Q1 and Q2 2026.
“Of particular interest to workshops is its accuracy and flexibility – the Absolute Alignment Commercial Vehicle Aligner uses the latest CCD (Charge Coupled Device) technology which offers portability and a wide range of vehicles covered to become an indispensable tool in any sized business,” said the firm.
“CCD technology has been around in wheel alignment equipment since the early 90s and has made its presence felt without the term being recognised by technicians. Many contact Absolute Alignment asking vaguely about ‘laser aligners’ and are bowled over by the possibilities offered by CCD equipment.”
Cited benefits of the technology include accuracy to within 0.1mm; portability, meaning no need for dedicated alignment bay and that equipment can be stored safely when not being used; compatibility with a range of lifts and ground-mounted turnplates; the ability to take readings within a couple of minutes of the vehicle arriving; and instantly available customer/workshop printouts, with the ability to save over 20,000 alignments in the programme if required.
Chris Dear, technical director at Absolute Alignment, said: “Many workshops want to expand their offering – LCV centres see extra profits in the LGV and bus/coach market or vice versa and our CV Aligner has extension kits to fit a wide range of vehicles. Although fuel prices are coming down, just a 1mm inaccuracy can mean a scrub of 6 feet per mile travelled, and with the huge distances covered by LGVs that means a useful saving in fuel costs and tyre wear.”
