V-Tech adds value with BM brake testing range

Workshop equipment supplier V-Tech offers a variety of equipment for commercial vehicle testing applications, including brake testers from Danish manufacturer BM.

“In the current climate it’s essential to ensure your garage is up to date with all the necessary equipment,” said the company.

“V-Tech has been in business for over 18 years, catering to the needs of single owner garages to nationwide franchised automotive workshops. We’ve built a reputable brand over the years, recognised for high quality garage equipment along with professional installation and maintenance.

“We have been proud partners of BM Brake Testers from Denmark for a long time. Our engineers have been fully trained to install and repair their full range of products of passenger vehicle brake testers to mobile commercial testers.”

The firm continued: “We endorse the range of BM’s products because they are fully DVSA compliant and are fully connected, which makes them fit for the future regulations, which as you know are only getting tighter.

“So if you’re interested in managing a fleet of commercial vehicles, we provide in-ground and mobile brake testers to suit all types of requirements with so many benefits and additional features which make your job easier.”

Options include the BM20200 mobile roller brake tester, designed for direct on-ground installation without the need for civil work. It requires only approximately 10 minutes for one-man setup prior to operation, says V-Tech.

The model is suitable for vehicles with axle loads up to 20,000 kg with integrated load simulation, and features an extensive range of options allowing for a customised configuration.

These include an infrared remote control with an operating distance of 15-25 metres, and a large aluminium display with analogue and digital readout of all relevant test data. Up to three displays can be connected, and optional automatic axle weighing and vehicle total weight can be included.

Further options include a pedal force meter and air/hydraulic pressure system available in cable or radio configurations, and the possibility to create a mobile test lane including a BM53000 mobile wheel play detector, and BM605 tachograph tester.

The system is easy to use with BM software, says the firm, featuring integrated guide, diagnostic and advanced graphics printout, and calculation of test results according to the requirements of many national authorities.

Meanwhile, the BM14200 roller brake tester, an in-ground brake tester, is built to withstand a very high throughput and handle continuous test of full laden axles, says V-Tech, for testing light and heavy vehicles with axle load up to 20,000 kg. A similar range of optional features is available for this model.

Both models are said to be robust and long-lasting, with high quality, hot galvanised steel. The wear surfaces of the rollers are based on mesh steel to ensure a long life time and accurate measurements, says V-Tech, and the models can be supplied in a minimum configuration while allowing for later upgrade to all options.
