Maintaining a constant flow with febi fluids
Component supplier febi, which offers a range of fluid products for commercial vehicle applications including AdBlue and related equipment, has highlighted the importance of using fluids that meet the correct specifications.
The NOx pollution-reducing urea solution was developed to comply with the emission limits for commercial vehicles starting with the Euro 4 standard, points out febi, and is a requirement for all diesel trucks with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology falling into this category.
“It consists of 32.5 per cent urea, a harmless, synthetic nitrogen compound, and demineralised water… The environmentally damaging nitrogen oxides (NOx) are almost completely converted into water vapour and atmospheric nitrogen,” said the firm.
But it warned: “AdBlue tanks can, and are, being filled with fluids available in the market which do not follow proper specifications, and this can lead to failures.
“It is important to use trademarked AdBlue in tanks for safe and legal driving. All febi fluids follow the manufacturers’ specifications.”
In addition to urea, Ferdinand Bilstein also offers urea filters with seal and add-on material as well as fuel covers for urea tanks.
