AS24 keeps track of trailers with Findit
Fuelling and fleet management services provider AS24, part of the Total group, has outlined the security and administration benefits of its Findit trailer tracking system.
“AS24 is always looking for fresh ideas and innovative ways to help logistics professionals,” said Roland Saunion, managing director for UK & Ireland.
“In addition to AS24 fuel cards and Passango toll badges, we can now offer a complete solution to improve the management of your trailer fleet and increase utilisation rates.”
With Findit, fleet operators can track trailers right across Europe and locate them at a glance. The installation of the tracker, which is wireless, can be easily completed by the customer in less than five minutes, AS24 says.
The service allows managers to receive alerts to anticipate maintenance periods, and to monitor trailer unhitching or unauthorised movements.
Once installed on the trailer, the device can be activated and the trailer’s position tracked via the dedicated web portal. Email alerts are also available. The system is self-powered with a battery lasting more than three years. Users need simply type in the trailer fleet number to quickly see whereabouts the unit is.
The Findit devices are compatible with all types of rolling stock – trailer, semi-trailer, swap body – regardless of brand.
Customers, which include French operator Transports Ambroise Bouvier, have opted for Findit in response to the issue of trailer theft, AS24 says, as well as because drivers do not necessarily park on-site for the weekend; the connected devices allow fleets to know when trailers are uncoupled from the tractor.
The system is also affordable, says AS24, with no setup fee or contractual commitment.
Represented in 29 countries, AS24 is a major distributor of diesel fuel and AdBlue for HGVs, as well as gas with its CNG and LNG offering. The growing network currently comprises more than 1,200 stations and 15,000 partner stations.
