Reinventing wheel repairs with FAG
Components provider Schaeffler has described how its FAG truck and trailer hub repair solutions can help fleet managers save time, effort and money by keeping vehicles out of the workshop and on the road for longer.
The company says its original equipment knowhow has been used to develop aftermarket repair solutions comprising a comprehensive range of genuine OE quality bearings, hub repair kits and complete hubs, trusted by vehicle manufacturers, wheel hub producers and commercial vehicle repairers around the world.
“Whatever your truck hub repair requirement, FAG has a solution for you, from traditional tapered roller bearings through to pre-lubricated and sealed-for-life press in solutions that take less time to repair but can also last longer,” said Schaeffler.
“The latest addition is a comprehensive range of complete hubs that come pre-installed with a genuine FAG bearing or hub bearing unit for the simplest and quickest bolt-on repair.”
To help technicians carry out professional bearing installations and hub repairs, a universal bearing pusher plate set is also available (part nr. 400627110). It contains 10 hardened steel pressure plates (without Chrome-VI) ranging from 75-175mm, making it suitable for all RIU applications.
“Each RIU is a pre-assembled, pre-lubricated (sealed for life) time and cost efficient replacement that is a breakthrough for economy and convenience – without sacrificing quality,” said Schaeffler.
