Hella’s hat-trick of lighting launches
Hella, the original equipment manufacturer and systems supplier, has further reiterated its lighting specialism by introducing a raft of new products to its heavy duty and universal lighting ranges.
Among these additions three are particularly relevant to the commercial vehicle (CV) sector – the compact full-LED rear lamp 328 630, Black Magic Cubes auxiliary light kits and ValueFit Slim Beacon.
With the compact full-LED, Hella says it has brought together the most up-to-date features into a modular combined rear light unit that provides a modern and elegant look with maximum functionality.
The full-LED rear lamp covers all five light functions required at the rear of the vehicle – taillight, stop light, reversing light, rear fog light and direction indicator – and does so exclusively with LEDs, for both 12 and 24-volt systems.
The taillight’s ‘Glowing Body’ technology is particularly eye-catching, says the company, as it illuminates into two flat, homogeneous light strips, making it highly visible and presenting a contemporary appearance to the traffic behind.
With installation dimensions of only 225 x 105 x 35 mm, the lamp’s design is extremely compact, so requires very little space, and is also versatile as it is available in a horizontal and vertical version. As a result, says Hella, it offers great flexibility and maximum design scope.
Both versions of the lamp generate an electronic ISO pulse for the direction indicator failure control, but the horizontal version features a ‘wiping’ direction indicator light.
The LED lamp is extremely robust and completely sealed, adds the company, while the polycarbonate external lens is two-tone (red and clear) and impact resistant, meaning that the lamp can withstand tough everyday use with ease.
Meanwhile, Hella‘s Black Magic Cubes offer a full blackout appearance, including their black mounting brackets and are available in two sizes, 2.7“ and 3.2“.
“Their sleek design not only makes them really stand out from the crowd, but eliminates dust and dirt from becoming lodged in the edges, and for maximum versatility they are 12 and 24-volt compatible,” said Hella.
“In addition, they have also received the highest dust and waterproof rating.
“Black Magic Cubes come in kits containing two lights including a wiring harness with DT connector, switch, connector and relays making them easy to install. The 3.2“ version is available in flood or spotlight and can be upright or pendant mounted or even integrated into bodywork or the bumper.”
Finally, the new ValueFit Slim Beacon is said to deliver safety and visibility in an incredibly sleek design with a height of just 50mm. Equipped with single or double flashing functions, the beacon is maintenance free and fully sealed and operates with both 12 and 24-volt supplies.
“Impact resistance is a given and the resilient poly-carbonate lens and robust aluminium base ensure that, despite its minimal dimensions, the Slim Beacon is tough enough to cope with the most arduous of conditions,” said Hella.
“It also offers an extremely high level of electrical protection from voltage spikes and polarity reversal.
The complete ValueFit work lamp series is said to offer a cost-effective solution that complements Hella’s premium range.
It is suitable for trucks, trailers, construction and agricultural vehicles and conforms to the same tests and approvals as more expensive offerings, says the firm, such as electromagnetic compatibility and overvoltage protection, plus vibration, temperature and chemical resistance.
