Sykes-Pickavant’s gas analysis solution
Diagnostic tools provider Sykes-Pickavant offers a 5-Gas Analyser as part of its range, which it says is an ideal pre-MOT diagnostic solution for LCV fleets.
“Comparative to competitor solutions, the 325232SP Portable Gas Analyser measures five gases in real time without the need for waiting on calculations to be processed in the background,” said the company.
“Time is imperative when you have a fleet of vehicles to be analysed and the absence of loading periods makes this option the ideal solution for transport operators.
“So many vehicle issues can be diagnosed based on the findings of gas analysis without the need for using an OBD scanner and problems can even be predicted in advance by reading the results before they’re flagged up by the vehicle’s management system. The option to record data also allows for vehicle emissions to be tracked on an ongoing basis and compared over time.”
The cost of this solution is approximately half that of an MOT-approved analyser, says the company, but still guarantees user confidence by identifying whether a vehicle will pass its MOT based on the emissions output.
“No time is wasted by sending the vehicle to an MOT that it’s not going to pass as remedial work can be carried out in preparation for the test based on the analyser’s findings,” added Sykes-Pickavant.
“The 325232SP offers the convenience of a handheld analyser with the advantage of a free infra-red printer to record results on the go. Test results can be recorded either manually (by pressing the appropriate key), or automatically at timed intervals, making the analyser ideal for on the road tests, requiring no driver intervention.”
The Portable Gas Analyser is also available as a 4-Gas version (325200SP) and both of these can be viewed in the February-May Product Spotlight Brochure available by request from Sykes-Pickavant’s customer service team.
