Components provider febi Truck offers a range of CV brake pads, which it says provide OE matching quality, perform reliably under all operating conditions and environmental effects, and are specially designed to meet high standards.
“The perfect contact between brake discs and brake pads results in optimal braking,” said the company.
“However, the best possible friction connection is achieved only when the brake pad fits the brake disc. Brake pads are highly stressed components because they must withstand temperatures of up to 800°C and must be extremely resilient mechanically. Brake performance should not be reduced by so-called ‘brake fading’ at high temperatures.”
febi says its brake pads feature an optimal mixture of friction material for low fading and a long service life.
The combination of the adhesive layer and the backing plate with the x-mesh reliably prevents the friction lining shearing off from the backing plate, says febi, while the special under layer secures bonding as well as contributing to noise reduction.
febi brake pads have a bedding-in compound (tiger stripes) on the friction material. Slots prevent cracks in the friction material and also reduce noise.
“New brake pads typically need a bedding-in period,” febi added.
“The surfaces of the pads and the discs need to align, and a transfer layer of the pad friction material is required on the surface of the brake disc to reach the full brake power.
“With the high friction bedding-in compound, also known as the tiger stripes, on the febi brake pads, you reduce the bedding-in time and have increased braking power from the beginning.”
The pads are delivered with the necessary accessories; and the company also highlights its certification credentials.
