2 Start goes for gold with latest livery

Training provider 2 Start has added a striking new golden-coloured truck and trailer to its fleet, the newest of 15 articulated lorries run by the company – with more vehicles due in 2023 to help meet increased growth and demand.

As a DVSA-approved training provider, the company uses its fleet to promote the range of courses it offers, as well as to build wider brand awareness among those who may see the trucks out on the road.

In a short study, over an eight-week period, 2 Start noted that over 12 per cent of its enquiries came from sightings of its trucks – a finding which the company says underlined the impact eye-catching liveries can have, and encouraged it to continue investing in them going forward.

Its growing fleet, which spans five depots across the south coast, also includes a pink Cancer Research-branded truck, a vivid orange vehicle, and a mint-coloured lorry.

For its latest branding exercise, the company teamed up with BrandItRight, a small family run graphics company, which has applied many of the firm’s vehicle graphics in the past.

The vinyl graphics deployed are said to last for many years, capable of withstanding UV rays and British weather. When designing the graphics for the truck, the aim was to create a theme that would complement the colour, yet also aid in accentuating the branding.

The red branding traditionally used by 2 Start was swapped out for greys and blacks which, juxtaposed with the gold, enabled the design to better stand out. In addition to the livery on the side of the trailer and the front of the tractor unit, text and branding were also added to the wind deflector above the cab.

The ‘white space’ (or in this case, gold space) was evenly distributed, to help ensure the graphics are easily digested by potential customers. Following a successful process from design to application, the new truck has now joined the 2 Start team and has already begun helping those pursuing their new career in logistics.

Currently running 12 rigid vehicles as well as the 15 artics, 2 Start says further expansion is inevitable.

“Giving certain trucks their own identity helps ensure the company’s fleet are easily identifiable when out on the road,” said the firm.

“Our new gold truck can currently be seen training in and around our Reading and Theale areas.”
