Rowlinson opts for Dawsongroup contract hire

Cheshire-based operator Rowlinson Packaging Ltd has renewed its entire fleet with six DAF CF 480FT tractor units and ten Lawrence David 4.7m EN12642 XL trailers, supplied on a five-year contract hire package by Dawsongroup truck and trailer.

The package includes tax, scheduled and non-scheduled servicing, repairs, inspections and maintenance, 24/7 national roadside assistance and breakdown recovery, MOT preparation and submission, and maintenance and recording of all documentation to meet O-licence requirements.

The six new tractor units and first seven trailers have been supplied in the timber packaging company’s new eye-catching blue and white livery. An additional three trailers are being added to the fleet in early 2023, bearing a product-specific variation of the new livery.

Jim Morgan, who manages Rowlinson Packaging’s overall H&S and fleet compliance, said: “We have a process of continuous improvement and monitoring across the business, and, as part of our ongoing H&S commitments, we identified that the company needed a new fleet.

“Dawsongroup had supplied vehicles for the previous five years, but we undertook a very thorough sweep of the market to find best value. That doesn’t necessarily mean the lowest price of course, but Dawsongroup were very competitive, and given the strong service levels from them and their local service agents in the past, we were happy to commit for a further five years.”
