Spafax audio warnings keep fleets up to standard
Automotive safety solutions provider Spafax International – best known for its unbreakable mirrors – has further expanded its range of audio warning alarms with the inclusion of options for multiple warning messages, programmable bespoke messages and white noise, with night-silent and mute functions.
The company highlights the requirement under Transport for London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS) to fit various safety features to zero-star-rated vehicles, including an audible manoeuvre warning to alert vulnerable road users when the vehicle is turning left.
“Simple to fit, the Spafax R10 certified warning alarms feature stud terminal connections and a two-bolt fitting, which allows them to easily attach to most vehicles without the need for costly installation,” said Spafax.
“Sealed against dust and moisture, vibration resistant and housed in a tough reinforced body, the alarms provide a robust and dependable solution.”
The range includes the BBL016 Multi-Function Reverse / Turn Left Alarm, which is IP69K-rated (fully dust and waterproof). The 90dB output offers both a left turn and reverse alarm with messages that state ‘caution, vehicle turning left’, and ‘warning, this vehicle is reversing’.
Also available is the BBL017 Multi-Function Programmable Message Reverse Alarm, which allows users to record their own messages by uploading MP3 files via USB to the 4MB memory. It is IP68 rated, with a 90dB sound output.
The IP67-rated BBL012 Smart Reverse Alarm incorporates self-resonating circuitry, which constantly measures the ambient noise and automatically adjusts the sound output accordingly, from 82-102dB, thereby reducing noise pollution.
