Parksafe protects pedestrians with AI detection
Parksafe Group can assist with fleets’ Progressive Safe System (PSS) needs through its new AI Intelligent Pedestrian Detection System, designed to eliminate blind spots and detect vulnerable road users (VRUs), providing drivers with audible and visual warnings.
“Drivers are given clear distances by measurement and colour codes (red, amber and green) which are displayed on the cab monitor,” said the company, “allowing the driver to gain more reaction time and to make a decision based on the colour coding, thus providing the driver with additional awareness and confidence in congested areas.
“The AI Intelligent Pedestrian Detection Camera can be used as a single camera or with a multi camera system, allowing the camera to be used on the side of the vehicle.”
It is said to be ideal for use on coaches, HGVs and plant vehicles.
Features of the Intelligent Pedestrian Detection Camera System include a large pedestrian detection area and 170° or 140° camera angles, and the system is available with or without a buzzer. Suitable for downward view detection, the system features a full HD 1080p camera and monitor, and live recordings with the Parksafe On Demand Web Portal.
