Fuelling innovations from bp

bp has outlined the latest developments in its portfolio of refuelling and charging solutions for fleet operators, including its fuel card offering and digital payment solutions.

“HGV fleet managers are actively addressing various challenges when it comes to procuring fuel, from optimising operation costs and adapting to market dynamics to managing pressures throughout the value chain,” said bp.

“In order to support fleet managers, bp offers a range of solutions including fuel cards. From handy management tools and excellent driver benefits to competitively priced fuel and total control of costs, fuel cards make fleet management simpler –all while tapping into a national network of more than 3,400 fuel stations, including over 500 bunker sites located in strategic motorways and ‘A’ road locations.”

Earlier this year bp Pulse announced the first charging corridor for medium and heavy-duty electric trucks in Europe. Six public charging locations with ultra-fast 300kw charge points aimed at electric trucks have been launched along a 600km (370-mile) stretch of the Rhine-Alpine corridor across Germany.

“To keep billing easy – whether fuel or charging – bp’s fuel and charge card is accepted across the Routex network: fleet drivers receive one combined card for both options, and fleet managers receive one bill,” said the company.

The Routex international network comprises over 24,000 sites in 32 European countries that fleets can access with the bp fuel and charge card.

The recent launch of digital payment solution, InTruck Connect, streamlines fleet management even further, says bp.

“The app is easy to install in trucks’ existing infotainment systems, and does not require any additional, potentially expensive hardware.

“This app simplifies the refuelling process by automatically providing accurate information on fuel purchases, mileage and other data to fleet managers, reducing the risk of discrepancies and removing the need for drivers to enter mileage themselves.”

InTruck Connect also makes life easier for drivers, says bp.

“When they need to refuel their truck, they simply confirm the fuelling site through the app, unlock the pump and refuel. They don’t need to leave their vehicle unattended at any point, and the app logs the transaction and pays for the fuel itself. bp InTruck Connect brings greater security and transparency to the refuelling process for fleet managers and drivers.”
