Stertil-Koni wireless lifts for Peoplesbus
Peoplesbus of Aintree in Liverpool has added a further set of four wireless 7.5t Mobile Column Lifts from manufacturer Stertil-Koni to its workshop.
The company purchased its first set at the beginning of 2023 and was reportedly so impressed with the product and how it enhanced workflow, that eight months later it invested in a second set.
The lift set comprises four wireless mobile columns, each offering a lifting capacity of 7.5 tonnes, thereby providing an overall safe lifting capacity of 30 tonnes, 15 tonnes per axle.
Each column incorporates the ebright Smart Control System which allows workshop engineers to operate the columns individually, in pairs or in any other combination from any column in the set.
The wireless columns can be positioned flexibly in any configuration around a vehicle; a maximum of 32 individual columns can be seamlessly connected together.
Featuring full-colour touch screen consoles, the ebright system is said to simplify operation for workshop engineers by providing them with maximum visual information about every lifting operation. The system also shows how many columns in the set are being used and the battery status of each, for added safety and performance.
An independent, always-active, mechanical locking system, incorporated into each column, further enhances safety, allowing technicians to securely lock the lift to prevent a vehicle from being inadvertently lowered.
The long-life deep cycle batteries that power the Stertil-Koni ST1075FWA heavy-duty lift are said to offer optimum performance for at least a week on average before recharging is needed. Power is only used to raise a vehicle, unlike a screw-lift, thereby reducing time spent recharging and prolonging battery life. The lift is charged via 230v single phase supply.
Setup time is also reduced significantly, the manufacturer says, thanks to the absence of power and communication cables; and adjustable width forks are included, ensuring the ST1075FWA can easily lift vehicles with differing tyre widths.
