City of York upgrades with Stertil-Koni
City of York Council has upgraded its vehicle lifting facilities by replacing an old four-post lift with a modern, electro-hydraulic 25t, 8m version from Stertil-Koni. This new surface-mounted lift complements existing 25t 4-Post and 5.5t 2-Post lifts from the manufacturer, purchased in 2020.
“The ST4250 stands out not only for its powerful and reliable lifting technology and crossbeam-free design, but also for its very low drive-on height,” said Stertil-Koni.
“Whilst simplifying the positioning of low ground clearance vehicles, the ingenious design of the approach ramps enables them to automatically tuck in as the lift rises to create an obstruction-free area around the lifts.
“Also, the two platforms can be readily adjusted inwards to cater for vehicles with narrower axle widths thereby extending the working range of the lift.”
Further cited benefits include a robust, reliable hydraulic system which is electronically controlled on both lift models to ensure smooth lifting and lowering cycles, even in the event of extremely uneven load distribution; and impact-resistant LED lights that switch on and off automatically just above floor level, supported by an audible warning signal for foot-trap protection.
A patented mechanical locking system is permanently enabled, and works entirely independently of the lifting system. The mechanical locking, activated by gravity alone, is said to guarantee the highest safety levels alongside an integrated pressure-relief valve that prevents all four lifting columns from becoming overloaded.
Stertil-Koni’s ebright Smart Control System allows operation of the lift from a control box attached to one of the posts. The system controls precise raising and lowering of vehicles via its full colour, touch-screen panel interface.
