Ramping up fleet safety with Fastview360

With Progressive Safe System (PSS) requirements now live in London, equipment provider Fastview360 has issued a reminder to operators that vehicles without a valid permit may now be subject to penalty charge notice (PCN) enforcements.

“Transport for London offered a grace period which you could have benefited from, which ceased on 5 May,” said the company.

“Over 50 Fastview360 customers chose to take advantage of the grace period, and all are now fully installed and ready to enter London without the risk of a DVS PCN.

“We use the latest AI camera technology and warning displays to minimise your vehicle blind spots and meet the Moving Off Information System (MOIS) and Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) regulations as part of the PSS specification.

“Our full solution has been assessed, passed, and recognised by external compliance testing to give the driver clarity and beneficial insights to vision around their vehicle.

“It also complies with other safety regulations such as FORS, CLOCS and HS2 requirement. Drivers love the increased visibility and clarity of what they see live which is reflected in the recordings should an incident occur.”

According to Laura Davis, an HGV driver at Sean Davis Transport Ltd, using the PSS system has made driving in all areas, not just London, much easier.

“Using mirrors alone blind spots do occur, but as soon as I activate the indicator, the camera shows instantly on the monitor in the cab, and I can clearly see exactly who or what is around my HGV,” said Laura.

“I’m instantly given confidence that the manoeuvre is safe, and any pedestrians get notification too. It’s great and made visibility much better!”

The system can be installed at dealerships prior to vehicles embarking on the road, says Fastview360, and retrofitting allows a diverse range of vehicles to benefit.

Users can remotely access their vehicle camera systems to ensure they are working with the Fastview360 live hardware status on FV-Link.

“Fines can occur for non-functional hardware – we make this clear on the live dashboard to enable you to avoid any potential PCNs,” the company warned.

Fastview360’s product portfolio also includes asset tracking and site CCTV, including PPE detection and incident reporting.
