Safer fleets with Vision Techniques
Vision Techniques is a major provider of vehicle safety and security equipment, serving a wide range of sectors including construction, waste management, quarrying, mining, agriculture and more.
“Trusted by some of the UK’s largest fleets, Vision Techniques’ products are helping to shape safety and security standards daily,” said the firm.
One of its top priorities is vehicle security, with a key focus on ensuring only authorised people can operate vehicles or access onboard equipment.
The VT Ident Plus system is a standout example of this, it says, offering a blend of security and anti-rollaway protection.
This system prevents theft, misuse and accidents by requiring operators to present a secure RFID tag before the vehicle or equipment can be activated.
This eliminates the risk of untrained or unauthorised use and enhances fleet control.
Ident Plus also includes anti-rollaway technology which automatically engages the handbrake if the vehicle door is opened, preventing potentially fatal rollaway incidents.
Vision Techniques also offers an extensive safety product range which includes its VT Lightboard, a cutting-edge system that raises driver awareness of workers on the road.
“VT Lightboard features a sleek, lightweight design using SMD technology, with fully customisable text options including ‘caution workers at rear’, effects like flashing or scrolling and can be mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation,” the company said.
“Text colours can be customised too with options including yellow, white, and green.”
Vision Techniques’ product range also includes the VT Illuminated Turnsign which is designed to warn vulnerable road users of the hazardous nearside during turns. This system helps reduce the risk of accidents by alerting pedestrians and cyclists before it’s too late.
VT Turnalarm is another product focusing on the safety of vulnerable road users. The visual and audible warning system activates only during low-speed manoeuvres when the vehicle is indicating. It uses high-intensity LEDs, beeps and audibly states “caution, this vehicle is turning left” to warn nearby road users and pedestrians.
As well as an extensive list of vehicle cameras which offer both safety and security for fleets, Vision Techniques offers VT SafeZone, which is designed to establish secure zones where pedestrians and machinery operate and most importantly, save lives.
By emitting a clear light barrier it establishes a safety zone around the perimeter of a vehicle or heavy equipment. The system effectively alerts pedestrians to potential danger zones, helping them stay safely away from moving vehicles and equipment.
Managing director Dave Smith explains the company’s approach on security and safety.
“We are trusted by many of the UK’s biggest fleets. With over 35 years’ experience in vehicle safety and security, our knowledge ensures our customers get the most from the systems we provide.
“We’re not a company that just installs and walks away. We support our clients throughout, helping them maximise the value and effectiveness of every product we supply.”
