FedEx has upgraded its UK workshops with the installation of Stertil-Koni 2-post and 4-post vehicle lifts, which the equipment manufacturer says are helping engineers carry out maintenance more safely, efficiently, and with maximum use of space.

The investment, made across five FedEx sites including Kidderminster, Pontyclun, Durham, Bradford and Maidstone, saw the delivery of three ST4120 4-Post Lifts and two SK2055EFA Freedomlift 2-Post Lifts.

“The 12-tonne capacity ST4120 4-Post Lift gives FedEx workshops the ability to handle a wide range of commercial vehicles with ease,” said Stertil-Koni.

“Its low drive-on height simplifies positioning, while ramps fold away automatically to leave a clear, obstruction-free area around the lift. Adjustable platforms extend the lift’s versatility, allowing technicians to work on vehicles with varying axle widths.

“With electronic hydraulic control, automatic mechanical locking, and built-in overload protection, the ST4120 provides safe, stable lifting every time, ideal for keeping FedEx’s fleet on the road.”

Meanwhile, the SK2055EFA Freedomlift is said to deliver safe and precise lifting, and is designed to handle a diverse range of vehicles, from long-wheelbase vans and light commercials to heavier electric vehicles.

“Its double-telescopic arms with hinged elbow joints allow engineers to position vehicles efficiently, while the rapid lifting cycle, reaching 2045mm in just 39 seconds, helps FedEx workshops maximise productivity,” said Stertil-Koni.

“Additionally, the Freedomlift offers instant wheel-free access, so no additional equipment such as jacking beams is needed to service the wheels.”

With a baseless construction and no rigid overhead crossbars, technicians benefit from clear, all-round access to vehicles, the company adds, making routine servicing quicker and more straightforward.

“Safety is built in at every stage, with features such as an independent locking system, overload protection, and protective shielding for hydraulic and electrical components, ensuring complete reliability during operation.

“By choosing Stertil-Koni, FedEx benefits from vehicle lifts that maximise space, increase technician efficiency, and guarantee safety at every stage. This latest investment underlines the company’s commitment to keeping its fleet moving and deliveries on schedule.”

Stertil-Koni’s distributor CCS of Leigh, Lancashire, supplied the equipment.
