Lazer Lamps upgrades Sentinel LED range

LED lighting manufacturer Lazer Lamps Ltd has announced significant updates to its Sentinel 9” range of round LED lights.

The latest enhancements include the introduction of new ‘Gen2’ products, including the Sentinel ‘Highline’ – a range specifically engineered for the heavy truck sector – as well as revisions to the Sentinel 9” Elite products, with new features and further functionality.

“Developed through Lazer’s in-house UK design, engineering, and manufacturing expertise, the updated Gen2 Sentinel models introduce a striking new look for the Position Light feature, an optional ‘Welcome Mode’ on start-up, and an improved operation of High and Low Output Modes,” said Lazer Lamps.

“These refinements reinforce the Sentinel range’s reputation for industry-leading performance, alongside their stunning contemporary aesthetics.”

The Sentinel 9″ Highline has been designed with the unique requirements of the heavy truck sector in mind, says the company; the Highline models deliver over 17,000 raw lumens from a 130W power output and prioritise an optimised vertical and horizontal light spread, whilst still achieving 1lux at 538m per lamp.

“What does this mean for truckers? Well it’s an ideal beam pattern for higher mounting positions, for instance atop truck cabs,” said the company.

“Adding to its truck-specific functionality, the Highline range includes product variants in white, as well as options featuring an integrated Beacon function, further enhancing visibility and safety on the road and during loading-unloading. These advanced lights are priced at the same level as Lazer’s existing Sentinel 9” Standard range, delivering outstanding value without compromise.”

Meanwhile, the updated Sentinel 9″ Elite (Gen2) models introduce the latest technology enhancements, says Lazer Lamps, while maintaining the same exceptional high beam lighting performance that has cemented their reputation in the market.

“The updated Sentinel Gen2 range sees a striking redesign of the Position Light feature; the new design provides a fully illuminated inner surface in either white or amber, contrasting with the previous four-corner lighting configuration, offering a more distinctive and uniform glow. It is important to note the new design still meets UNECE regulations for on-road use (white light only).

“Adding an extra layer of customisation, the new Sentinel Gen2 models offer an optional ‘Welcome Mode’ feature upon start-up. Customers can activate one of two subtle lighting effects: a gradual brightening of the selected Position Light colour, or a colour-alternating brightening effect. This feature comes deactivated by default, allowing customers full control over their installation preferences.”

Building on innovations introduced with Lazer’s Glide Light Bar products, the latest Sentinel models also incorporate an updated ‘Flash-to-Dim’ function.

“This technology allows drivers to easily reduce the light output with a quick flash of the lights, useful when driving in a country that requires the lights to operate at a road legal level, as the lights when operating in low output mode are approved as a UNECE Reg 112 Class B Driving Light for on-road high beam use,” said the firm.

“This low output can also be useful when encountering highly reflective road signs. In summary the refinements to the High and Low output functionality further optimise the Sentinel Gen2’s performance and adaptability in varying driving environments, allowing the driver to change modes easily and quickly.”

While the core Sentinel 9” Standard range remains unchanged, Lazer has announced that the standard models will continue to be available for customers who prefer the original Position Light design, or require an 87W power output – maintaining an option for those with specific wiring limitations, as the Sentinel Highline operates at 130W and the Elite version at 145W.

Lazer founder and managing director Ben Russell-Smith said: “These latest updates to our Sentinel range demonstrate our ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge lighting solutions that meet the diverse needs of our customers.

“The introduction of the Highline range is particularly exciting, offering a dedicated option for truck operators.

“Meanwhile, the enhancements to our Elite models ensure that our flagship products continue to set the benchmark for performance and innovation in the industry.”
