Logistics UK announced the launch of Thrive last month – a dedicated online hub that aims to support logistics professionals’ mental health and wellbeing.

Thrive is designed to bring together a curated library of trusted resources, covering a range of topics such as workplace wellbeing, nutrition, sleep, fitness and positive lifestyle habits from a variety of contributors and external sources.

In addition, it will feature tools, articles and guidance to connect people with expert support.

Organisations already involved in contributing to the project include the Structured Health Intervention For Truckers (SHIFT), the Logistics UK Policy Directorate and Member Advice Centre, and Motorway Buddy.

Thrive will also signpost resources and vital support services from leading UK mental health charity, the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). To help sustain CALM’s suicide prevention and crisis support work, Logistics UK will additionally highlight fundraising opportunities throughout the year.

Logistics UK says Thrive will continually evolve, with new content and contributors regularly added to the hub to ensure it reflects the sector’s needs.

The organisation’s acting chief executive Kevin Green said: “Logistics UK recognises the growing importance of mental health and wellbeing across the workforce, from HGV drivers and warehouse staff to supply chain managers and logistics leaders.

“In an industry where long hours, shift work and high levels of responsibility can put a real strain on wellbeing, we are confident that Thrive will provide genuine help and guidance to enable us to support our members and their staff with invaluable health and wellbeing resources.”
