Emergen-See wing mirrors keep fleets moving
Emergen-See offers a range of emergency wing mirrors that can be attached to a vehicle in the event of its permanent mirror being lost or damaged during a journey.
The visibility specialist highlighted the difficulties that losing a wing mirror can entail for fleet operators, including costly delays parked in laybys waiting for assistance – which in turn can result in missed delivery slots and impact on working hours, affecting the next day’s schedule.
According to Emergen-See, the cost of a callout to resolve the problem will be far more than the cost of its emergency wing mirrors, which it says are E11 compliant for UK and EU use, and available for HGVs, coaches and vans. The mirrors can help operators protect their O-licences and stay legal, the firm adds, while also providing peace of mind for drivers.
The commercial model for trucks, coaches and wagons has dimensions of 40 x 30 x 10cm and 2kg weight, and comes with a suction mount and safety tether. Mirrors are shatter-resistant and fit most vehicles.
A smaller, standard model is also available for vehicles such as minibuses, camper vans and cars.
Emergen-See’s founder realised there was a need for a temporary mirror solution after a lorry struck his motorhome.
“After years as a lorry driver, he knew that a damaged wing mirror can cause hours of unnecessary downtime,” said the firm.
“He got to work on a solution, the emergency wing mirror for any vehicle.
“A few months later Emergen-See wing mirrors was born and now hundreds of people use our emergency wing mirrors, nationwide.”
The supplier says its products are already in use nationwide, its customer base having grown dramatically since its 2024 launch to incorporate fleets such as DHL and Amvale. No tools are required to fit the mirrors, which are fully adjustable.
