VWCV research offers EV insights

Rising confidence in EV technology, growing charging provision, and the availability of high-quality electric vans are reshaping expectations across the commercial vehicle sector, according to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV).

The firm highlights research it has commissioned suggesting that confidence in EV suitability remains strong among van drivers, with many citing lower running costs (58 per cent), improved business sustainability (41 per cent), and ULEZ zone expansion (25 per cent) as key motivators. Nonetheless, it says more needs to be done to support businesses making the switch.

“For the past few years, the ID. Buzz Cargo has been a standout choice for companies wanting a reliable, all-electric van with distinctive design,” said the company.

“It delivers business-ready range (up to 276 miles, official WLTP), rapid charging capability (up to 185 kW), and a generous cargo volume (up to 3.9m³)…

“Recently added to the line-up is the newest generation of the iconic Transporter… Available as a fully-electric van for the first time, as well as a plug-in eHybrid variant later in 2026, the new Transporter is as ready for city centre jobs as it is long distance site-to-site travel.

“With up to 6.8m3 load volume and a payload of up to 1,092kg, it’s a sturdy and reliable workhorse.”

VWCV offers support through its nationwide Van Centre network, where customers can access expert advice, sales and service teams, certified conversion options, as well as tailored fleet management services. A new addition to the services offered is Connect Pro, a customisable digital platform that allows fleet managers to remotely monitor vehicles, with data including live location, state of charge, maintenance demands, and more.
