Nexus Rental launches dedicated HGV and plant proposition
B2B vehicle and plant hire business Nexus Rental has announced the launch of a new Plant, Equipment and HGV proposition. Built on the company’s Iris platform and an expansive UK supply partner network, the offering is said to directly address the hidden cost and complexity of multi-supply partner hire management.
Nexus’ comprehensive supply partner network for specialist Plant, Equipment and HGV rental includes over 700,000 assets across 125+ supply partners and 650+ branches. The Iris platform brings everything together in one place, says the firm, offering a hire management module, bespoke account configuration, compliance management, damage claims workflows, self-service reporting, and centralised invoice processing.
Behind the platform sits the Live Hire Desk: a team of experienced Plant, Equipment and HGV specialists available by phone, email, and live chat. Every customer interaction is handled by a real expert, not an automated system, ensuring that complex hire requirements, urgent requests, and operational queries are resolved quickly and accurately.
Not only does this make the hire process more streamlined, says Nexus, but it also actively saves customers approximately £50 to £75 per hire, from eliminating time spent managing multiple supply partners, reconciling invoices from multiple sources, handling disputes and billing errors, manual reporting, general admin work, and sourcing. Most businesses do not see this cost because it is buried in procurement and operations overheads, the company adds, but it can quickly add up.
Nexus offers complete coverage across five categories: Site and Groundworks, Material Handling, HGV and Specialist Fleets, Access Equipment, and Site Setup and Welfare – all managed through one platform, with one team behind them.
Nexus says its team collaborates closely with customers and supply partners to reduce environmental impact, support green targets and boost employee engagement. Iris offers insight into emissions data across the entire hire estate by asset, by supply partners and by site, pre-configured green booking preferences, equipment specifications and environmental impact data to support carbon reduction policies. Equipment choices also include electric and solar-powered, as well as hybrid and zero-emissions options.
Gerry McCaig, chief operating officer at Nexus, said: “This proposition is built on three things, a market-leading platform in Iris, a supply partner network that covers the entire UK, and a team of real Plant, Equipment and HGV experts managing the detail on behalf of our customers.
“That combination is what sets us apart and it is something we are proud to deliver as a responsible business. Nexus has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, placing us in the top 35 per cent of companies assessed globally for responsible business practice.”
