TotalEnergies highlights approvals for Rubia and Agri lubricants

With over 200 approvals from heavy duty and agricultural vehicle and equipment manufacturers, TotalEnergies says its lubricants can provide peace of mind to fleet operators and vehicle owners following recent updates to Verification of Lubrication Specifications (VLS) guidelines.

“In May 2026, lubricant trade body VLS published its latest guidelines regarding lubricant specifications and performance claims, reinforcing the importance for businesses of choosing a high-quality lubricant with the right original equipment manufacturer (OEM) compatibility,” said TotalEnergies.

“TotalEnergies’ Rubia and Agri ranges are tested and approved by more than 200 major on- and off-road heavy vehicle and equipment manufacturers, supporting applications across the agricultural, industrial and transportation sectors.

“These approvals certify that stated TotalEnergies products are 100 per cent compatible with the latest engine technology of the related manufacturers.”

Current approvals include OEMs such as MAN, Renault Trucks, Scania, Volvo, Claas, Deutz and Kubota.

Tom Hyde, technical support manager, lubricants division at TotalEnergies Marketing UK, said:  “From farming business to construction enterprises, to logistics and transport operators, vehicles and other equipment are major investments and a critical asset. Effective maintenance is essential, not just to deliver maximum operational uptime – on site, in the field, or on the road – but also to manage the long-term costs of ownership.  Fleet managers and equipment owners should look for OEM-approved products to ensure optimum compatibility, performance and engine care.”

TotalEnergies’ ranges for heavy vehicles and agricultural equipment include Rubia Ev3r, a sustainable truck engine oil, incorporating more than 50 per cent re-refined base oil (RRBO); Rubia Optima, developed to support the latest on-road diesel engines; Rubia Works, tailor-made engine oils for off-road construction and mining equipment; and Tractagri, designed for agricultural equipment.

Tom Hyde added: “The new guidelines from VLS provide businesses important clarity, and will hopefully help buyers make better, more informed decisions about what they select for their vehicles and equipment.”
